Vogue Magazine's "Diversity" Issue

Hey scholars!

So, this morning I am browsing through my social media accounts and come across this image:

There is no excuse as to why Vogue Magazine chose a white model rather than hire a Japanese model to celebrate Japanese culture. This is your DIVERSITY ISSUE??? How do you celebrate color by white-washing it?? How Sway?!

Well, the model, Karlie Kloss issued the following PR heavy statement:

"These images appropriate a culture that is not my own and I am truly sorry for participating in a shoot that was not culturally sensitive. My goal is, and always will be, to empower my future shoots and projects reflect that mission."

She is not Japanese so how could she not think that this was okay. You knew you were going to get dragged for this shit. Another thing, why bring feminism into this?? That is not a concern here, but since she brought it up... White women always fall back on that space that has been safe for them for far too long. How many draggings will it take for y'awl to stop this madness?? You know better. Culture. Not. Costume.
